The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery provides diagnosis and treatment for congenital as well as acquired deformities. Plastic Surgery at Duke has a long history of excellence in cleft lip and palate reconstruction, reconstructive microsurgery, hand surgery, reconstructive breast surgery as well as all aspects of aesthetic surgery including postbariatric plastic surgery, body contouring and liposuction. The Division has pioneered techniques in reconstructive microsurgery for breast reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction, and extremity salvage. Special clinical programs include craniofacial, the cleft lip and palate team, extremity reconstruction center, wound center and a multidisciplinary aesthetic clinic that, in addition to aesthetic plastic surgery includes oculoplastic surgery, otolaryngology, dermatology, and plastic surgery.
